Educational
Beyond the Bike very much enjoyed working with with Tutor 2U, Digital Explorer, Rumie and theBritish Council for the Next Revolution.
Teaching resources were (and still are!) available from Tutor2U throughout the trip. Links to these resources were also available from Digital Explorer and Rumie. The Economic Cycle blog is linked to/from all of the above sites along with our pictures and facts 'of the week'. Skype lessons were arranged via Tutor2U and we enjoyed visiting schools in the British Council's Connecting Classrooms programme on our journey.
Thank you to the Royal Economic Society for their support of this project.
The next educational project is a children's book. The Adventures of Thandie the Tandem published in June 2018. The book fits into the KS 1 & 2 currricula. We have included as many of the Year 3 and 4 spellings as possible as well as the language targets. Timmy and Thandie’s travels should provoke ideas for discussion on diversity fitting in with British Values such as ‘mutual respect and tolerance for different faiths and religions’
