Yes Minister...

Spring was in the air as Thandie and I glided along the A281 into Guildford before getting the train into London for a photoshoot with the sports Minister Hugh Robertson....

Although not a tall man as the photo shows, he's a driving force behind Britain's attempts to make the London 2012 Olympics a success (http://www.hughrobertson.org.uk). It was very good of him to take 5 minutes of his time to sit on the back of the bike outside of his office, just off Trafalgar square. I received a warm welcome from his secretary Dulcie - a proud Londoner who seemed to be enjoying the buzz of working on the games, although I sensed that she wasn't quite sure what to make of Thandie standing next to me. Hugh marched out shortly afterwards, accompanied by his attractive PR director Kate, who duly took the photo. I offered her a ride but she politely declined. I'm not sure he really remembered me, but we worked together at Schroders in 2002/03. Hugh transitioned from the army, via the city, into politics (the more conservative route, one might think!). He has subsequently landed a great job in Cameron's cabinet. After a brief conversation, he was whisked off to his next appointment by Kate and I rode on to mine: what turned out to a fruitful meeting with potential kit sponsors Serious Stuff. http://www.serious-stuff.com
